Beaver

Beaver like to build dams in streams to raise water levels to build their lodge or den. They damage trees by chewing on them. They cut some trees down to build their lodge while others they chew on to eat. Beavers also eat shurbs, ferns, aquatic plant, grasses and crops including corn and beans. The main public health concern is Tularemia and Giardia. Tularemia can make humans pretty sick but it can be fatal to animals. Although unlikely, Tularemia can be contracted by a tick bite, a biting fly, ingestion of contaminated wiaret, or by inhaling dust from soil contaminated with the baacteria. Giardia, also called "beaver fever", is a single-cell protozon that can be found in the water that has been dammed up by the beaver.
